元器件交易网讯 2月25日消息，据业内人士透露，盛群半导体公司的子公司金佶科技（Gingy）预计将在2014年第二季度向客户交付第三代光学指纹传感器的样品。
最新光学指纹传感器的厚度只有3mm，而以前则是4.9mm，将主要面向平板电脑、智能手机和其他移动设备领域。
消息人士指出，为生产指纹传感器，金佶将从SK海力士购入CMOS图像传感器，并从盛群半导体购入8位和32位微控制器（MCU）、LED驱动器IC和DC/DC驱动器IC。
盛群半导体主要专注于MCU、LCD/LED驱动IC、模拟IC，目前持有金佶科技的19.5%股权。（元器件交易网郭路平 译）

Gingy to release new fingerprint sensors in 2Q14
Gingy Technology, an associate company of Holtek Semiconductor, is expected to deliver samples of its third-generation optical fingerprint sensors to clients in the second quarter of 2014, according to industry sources.
The new optical fingerprint sensor, which will have a thickness of 3mm compared to 4.9mm of the previous model, will target the tablet, smartphone and other mobile device segments, said the sources.
Gingy will purchase CMOS image sensors from SK Hynix, as well as 8- and 32-bit MCUs, LED driver ICs and DC/DC driver ICs from Holtek for its fingerprint sensors, the sources noted.
Holtek, which focuses on MCUs, LCD/LED driver ICs and analog ICs, currently holds a 19.5% stake in Gingy.
